It’s that special time of year again for the Australian Samarpan Retreat and we warmly welcome you to join us for what is sure to be a fantastic experience. This document will give an overview of the essential information, I will provide participants with a more detailed guide on confirmation closer to the event
Location Kailash Mountain Collective is set in the stunning Victorian mountainous region known in the Aboriginal local language as Gariwerd (which translates to ‘Mountain of Gods) or by its western name, the Grampians. The area is home to splendid Australian wildlife; birds, kangaroos, emus, echidnas, and a lovely retreat space with options for camping and staying in a lodge. One of our community members (me, David!) is the caretaker of the land so we can be assured of a unique experience filled with lots of hospitality and local knowledge. |
Goal Not that we are too fixed on ‘goals’, but we thought we would outline a few ideas setting up the theme of the event and expanding on the ‘Soul to Soul’ theme that runs through the international retreats. We will be exploring themes of how we can individually and collectively connect to the divine within by experiencing and witnessing ourselves as part of Nature. The beauty, majesty and poetry of the flora and fauna can help us find our own sense of inner beauty, and can leave us in awe at how miraculous all of life is (including our humble selves!) We will spend some time cultivating our connection in a mindful way to the senses, which can reveal the deeper secrets and hidden connections in the natural environment. By being aware of the little divine winks that Nature has for us, we can learn how to live in harmony with ourselves, our community and our environment. |
Retreat The more structured activities of the retreat will be planned over the weekend Friday 26th October - Sunday 28th October with the opportunity for those wishing to stay longer to come up on the afternoon of Tuesday 23rd October staying until Tuesday 30th October. Activities; ●Sunrise / Sunset Collective Meditation ●Light Hatha Yoga ●Exploration of the property - many quiet spots to go and find ●Soul time for reflection ●Creative expression and sharing session ●Campfires for sharing of stories and songs and experience |
